This is an antique lathe turned circular snuff box but of course its a trinket box in todays market made from what looks walnut.
The lid has a hand painted portrait miniature of a young gent wearing a blue coat situated behind a glass pane with gilt metal border.
The painting has been signed by Bingle.
No maker's marks for the box etc.
In collectable condition with normal signs of age and use wear. There are a couple of small chips on the base rim of the box. No damage to the portrait from what I can see.

It measures approx. 2 and 3/8 inches in diameter and approx. 7/8 of an inch deep.
The lid fits snug.
A very nice box which would make a nice pressie to yourself if you are into nice Georgian antiques.

Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm in diameter which is just short of 7/8ths of an inch in diameter.
