A superb 1/72 diecast US Navy Grumman F4F-3 Wildcat of VMF-224, that saw action at Guadalcanal in 1942, flown by Major Robert E. Galer.
It is from a De Agostini series of World War 2 fighters. The models & stands are the same as those released under the IXO brand some years ago, so I'm pretty sure that this series have been made by IXO for De Agostini.
The plane is predominantly made from metal & has many small detail accessories, & inter-changeable undercarriage parts.
The model measures just over 4" (105mm) in length & has a wingspan of just over 6" (153mm).
It is presented in a vac-form "sandwich" on a carded blister & is new & mint.
