NOTE that it does not contain bone from any endangered or threatened species

This is a Scottish Antique 18th Cent Carved Bovine Horn Gypsy Sailor Ladle 14.5"

These types of items were carved from Cattle Bos Taurus cow horns in Scotland. This was undertaken by gypsy tinkler travellers who would perform chores on farms such as de-horning cattle. In return they were allowed to keep the horns which they turned into items such as these to sell. They would sell them to Sailors who would then use them (Carved)

It measures 14.5 Inches in length approx. The bowl of the ladle is 1" deep and 5.5" in diameter.

This is a genuine antiques items and as such has wear, distress, minor cracking, chipping and patina commensurate with its age as shown in my many supersize photographs. Overall condition is very good and more than useable.

This is a lovely genuine Scottish "True Antique" and Im sure if it could speak would have many tales to tell.

Please note I am based in Scotland

I will be happy to combine postage for multiple purchases , please wait for me to send you a combined postage invoice.
