2005-06 Upper Deck Ultimate Debut Threads
Jersey & Signature - Limited Issue #19/25

Sidney Crosby's Ultimate Rookie Card

ULTRA RARE -- PSA10 GEM MINT - Population 1

In the 2005-06 Upper Deck Ultimate Debut Threads Jersey & Signature Series this card is:

the Only Sidney Crosby PSA Card IN ANY GRADE and,

the Only PSA 10 Card of ANY PLAYER IN THE ENTIRE SERIES.

There is no other players’ card in the 2005-06 Upper Deck Ultimate Debut Threads Jersey and Signature Series graded PSA 10 Gem Mint — NONE!!!!!!!

It is also very important to note that Upper Deck only cut one white rookie year game used jersey of Sidney Crosby for use in their two premier card series issued during the 2005-2006 season. These two premier series were "Ultimate Threads" and "The Cup". As such, Upper Deck cards with jersey or patch threads added to cards from all other series are not from a Sidney Crosby game used rookie jersey.

Aside from being unique in its Gem Mint grade and including threads from the only Crosby rookie

game used white jersey, what makes this card even more special is it's the premiere

Rookie Card of arguably the best hockey player of the last two decades.

See my discussion after the following summary of Sidney Crosby’s awards and accomplishments for why the value of this card should easily rival and exceed the recent high prices paid for a Sidney Crosby "The Cup" Signature and Patch BGS 10 card and for a Wayne Gretzky OPC PSA 10 Rookie card.

Sidney Crosby's hockey awards and accomplishments are like an encyclopedia of greatness.

Some of his awards are:

3x Winner of the Ted Lindsay Award (formerly the Lester P. Pearson Award) - voted

the most outstanding player judged by his peers

8x Winner of the Best NHL Player Espy Award

2x Winner of the Hart Memorial Trophy - NHL MVP

2x Winner of the Conn Smyth Trophy - MVP in the Stanley Cup Playoffs

2x Winner of the Art Ross Trophy - NHL Scoring Title

2x Winner of the Maurice "Rocket" Ricard Award - NHL Goal Scoring Leader

Voted 12x to NHL All Star Team - missed 8 due to Olympic conflicts and/or injuries

Voted the NHL All Star MVP in 2019

Winner of the Mark Messier Leadership Award in 2010

In 2015, Unanimously Voted MVP in the World Cup of Hockey

His accomplishments are way too many to list but they include the following:

In 2017, named one of the 100 Best Players in NHL History

To date, Crosby has scored 517 Goals, has 892 Assists and 1,409 Points in 1,108 Games Played

Youngest Player in NHL History to reach 100 point season

Youngest Captain in NHL History to Win a Stanley Cup Championship

Captain of three Stanley Cup Champions - Pittsburgh Penguins

2x Olympic Team Gold Medal Winner with Team Canada

Scored the OT winning goal in the 2010 Winter Olympic Gold Medal Game for Team Canada

Captain of the 2014 Olympic Gold Medal Team Canada

His amateur accomplishments are many and include leading Team Canada with

Six goals in their tournament run to win the 2005 World Junior Championship

In the same year, he was the overall #1 Selection in NHL Entry Draft - selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins

In summary, this perfectly graded card is the rarest (Population 1 in PSA 10) and should be the most coveted PSA GEM Mint hockey card ever produced. Its rarity and the tremendous attributes set it FAR APART from the highest auction sale of any other Sidney Crosby Rookie Card.

Talk about an investment opportunity, a Wayne Gretzky OPC Rookie Card graded PSA 10 recently sold this year for over $3.75 million while a 2015-2016 "The Cup" Signature and Patch BGS10 Crosby Rookie Card sold for $125,000 in June 2020. As mentioned earlier, this Crosby Ultimate Threads rookie card has significantly better attributes, rarity and history that should allow it exceed these two auction sale amounts in the not too distant future.

Additionally, consider the following:

the auctioned Crosby rookie card from "The Cup" Series referred to above was not graded by PSA (it was graded Gem Mint 10 by BGS) yet it still garnered a $125,000 final sale price. The highest PSA graded Crosby card from this series is ONLY PSA 6 EX/NMT. As such, do you really think this BGS Gem Mint 10 card would receive a Gem Mint grade from PSA? Likely not!!

Currently, you cannot compare any BGS graded card to a PSA 10 Gem Mint card. This is a very significant differentiator between the two Crosby cards.

As everyone knows and as demonstrated by the PSA Population Report, PSA Gem Mint 10 grades are rarities, especially for very valuable premier cards - that is why PSA 10 Gem Mint Rookie cards for ALL SPORTS command significant multiple price premiums over similar lower graded cards.

Finally, the Wayne Gretzky OPC PSA 10 rookie card has a PSA population total that is twice the number of this Crosby PSA 10 rookie card and it also has an exponentially greater total population of produced cards. All things considered, should a higher population PSA Gem Mint Gretzky Rookie card be more than 10x more valuable that a premier Crosby PSA 10 GEM MINT Rookie Card?  Although it is generally accepted that Gretzky was "the Great One", Crosby is obviously not more than 10x less great. Although this Crosby card is the same grade, what also sets it apart from the Gretzky card is its lower PSA population and its rookie game used jersey threads. As such, it is ridiculous to suggest Gretzky's higher population PSA 10 should command more than 10x my asking price. That's one of the many reasons why my asking price is such bargain. Prudent investors understand this !!!!!!!!

When investors ultimately catch on that this card has significantly better attributes and rarity than Crosby‘s  "The Cup" Signature and Threads rookie card and Gretzky’s OPC rookie card,

the sky's the limit on how much this card will command in the future.

Do not let this investment opportunity slip by before it gets the attention it truly deserves !!!!!!!!!!!!!
