Welcome to Antiques & Moore!

This listing is for a gorgeous Wheeling Peach Blow Art Glass stick vase, c. 1886-1890. This glass color shades from a rich mahogany/cherry red at the top to a custard/amber color at the base which is complimented by its white opaque cased glass interior and glossy finish on the exterior. The vase has a long slender neck with a bulbous body and has a polished pontil. Made by the Hobbs, Brockunier Glass Company in Wheeling, West Virginia, this glass was originally called "Coral" glass although it is know by collectors as Wheeling Peach Blow glass. This was an expensive glass to make and was therefore made for only a very short period which contributes to its rarity and desirability. A similar vase is pictured on page 126 of "The Collector's Encyclopedia of American Art Glass" by John A. Shuman III.

Measures just over 8" high with a 3/4" top opening and an overall width of about 3 1/2".  Weighs 12.5 ounces.

This nice vase is in excellent Estate condition with exceptional color and no noted flaws or signs of wear. There is a numbered identification label on the base that we have not removed.

If you collect American Art Glass, this would be a fantastic addition to your collection! We also have this vase available in a matte finish.
