Fret Slotting Mitre Box - for Guitar Maker & Luthier
Our Fret Slotting Miter Box allows you to accurately cut fret slots with a fret slotting handsaw. The ball-bearing guides make sawing easier and faster as they hold the fret saw perpendicular to the fingerboard. The guides can be adjusted to match the blade precisely. You can quickly slot any board up to 3" (76mm) wide.
The fret saw glides through the ball-bearing rollers with no jamming or chattering. You've never felt a miter saw move this freely without looseness. The bearings hold the blade perpendicular to the fretboard at a perfect right angle.
New model with 2 clamps.Two in-built clamps can be tightened to quickly and firmly hold the fingerboard in place as each fret slot is cut.
Our uncluttered design lets you see and feel the slot being cut. Set the slot depth to suit your fretwire, and the saw stops cutting when you reach that point. Easy!
Note:The Fret Slotting Miter Box accommodates fingerboards up to 1/2" (12.70mm) thick . The box is rugged aluminum, 12" (304.8mm) long. Instructions, screws and hex keys included. Hex wrenches are for setting the rollers to fit your saw blade.
The Fret saw in the picture is not included. We just have the Miter box, you can buy the saws and fret scale templates from others.This Fret Slotting Miter Box can work with most Fret slotting saws(the width must be more than 1.65"(42mm)). and it can perfectly work with StewarMacDonald's notched Fret Scale Templates, slots for popular scale lengths can be cut with accuracy and ease.
