RUDOLF NUREYEV Orig Signed Nude Photo VALENTINO Soundtrack Prototype Centerfold

Up for sale is a piece I'm very excited to offer in my store.  This is an extremely rare prototype for the centerfold of the 1977 soundtrack to the film VALENTINO starring ballet's greatest male dancer, Rudolf Nureyev.  The image (I believe Michael Ochs was the photographer) depicts a scene from the film where Rudolph Valentino pays tribute to Nijinsky's famed ballet AFTERNOON OF THE FAUN for Nazimova's camera.  So a nearly nude Nureyev is simulating a role that he would actually play in 1983 at the Nureyev Festival at the London Coliseum as part of an homage to Diaghilev.

I had to take the photo out of the frame to understand what was really inside.  This is the same size as an album centerfold--including the fold, but it is not from the album.  I believe it pre-dates the album and is a prototype or mock-up for it.  The backside is not the rest of the album--it is blank and it is not folded as it appears to be from the front as you can see in the photo of the white backside.  Also the United Artist copyright has a mistake.  It says MCMLXVII (which is 1967).  The film and album came out in MXMLXXVII (which is 1977).  The bottom left corner also has the album's catalog number UA-LA810-H.  It measures 24" X 12".

And of course the most important aspect of this rare piece is that it has the original signature in blue ink of Rudolf Nureyev.  This is a very rare piece from Nureyev's iconic film role.  It's a terrific image of a nearly nude Nureyev portraying a classic ballet role on film that he would go on to famously do on stage.  This is likely the only prototype like this and it is signed by Nureyev.  If there is another, it's certain not available to buy.

This is in a gold painted wood frame that is 13.25" x 25.25".  The frame has some very light wear.  The photo is in excellent condition.

I'm happy to combine shipping for multiple purchases when it can be done in a way that keeps all items safe.

*Please note that my shipping time is up to 5 business days as I have multiple jobs and can only ship one day a week.  If you happen to purchase after I return from the post office on shipping day it will be a full week wait until I am able to ship again.  But most people will have a much shorter wait and some will have very fast shipping.  No one will have to wait more than 5 business days.  Thank you for understanding.
