a Farm near Dikanka." Written in 1829-1830.
Николай Васильевич Гоголь (1809 - 1852) - русский прозаик, драматург, поэт, критик, публицист,
признанный одним из классиков русской литературы.
По мнению В. Белинского и Н. Чернышевского, Гоголь стал основателем литературного направления - основного этапа
«Натуральной школы» 1840-х годов и оказал огромное влияние на русскую и мировую литературу. Влияние Гоголя
на своё творчество признавали Михаил Булгаков, Фёдор Достоевский, Рюноскэ Акутагава, Фланнери О’Коннор,
Франц Кафка и многие другие.
Nikolai Gogol (1809 - 1852) - Russian prose writer, playwright, poet, critic, publicist, recognized as one of the classics
of Russian literature.
According to V. Belinsky and N. Chernyshevsky, Gogol became the founder of the literary movement - the main stage
of the "Natural School" of the 1840s and had a huge influence on Russian and world literature. Gogol's influence
on his creativity was recognized by Mikhail Bulgakov, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Ryunosuke Akutagawa, Flannery O'Connor,
Franz Kafka and a lot others.
Александра Самуиловна Панафидина (1873 - 1919) - издатель и книгопродавец, работала вместе со своим мужем
Андреем Яковлевичем (1857 - 1902).
"Книгоиздательство и книжная торговля А.Я. Панафидина" было основано в Москве в 1885 г. Она выпускала дешевые издания
произведений русских и зарубежных классиков ("Иллюстрированная библиотека"), учебную, детскую, научно-популярную
литературу. А.С. Панафидина издавала однотомные собрания сочинений А.С. Пушкина, Н.В. Гоголя, В.А. Жуковского,
И.С. Никитина, М.Ю. Лермонтова, а также серию литературно-критических книг о произведениях Н.Г. Чернышевского,
А.Н. Островского, А.К. Толстого и др. Как вспоминают современники, она владела "крупнейшим оптовым складом в Лялином
переулке, 11 и магазином в Санкт-Петербурге". С 1913 г. Панафидина начала выпускать "Газетку для детей и юношества",
где публиковала статьи о последних достижениях науки, об окружающем мире.
Alexandra Panafidina (1873 - 1919) - publisher and a bookseller, worked with her husband Andrei (1857-1902).
"Publishing and book trade of A. Ya. Panafidina" was founded in Moscow in 1885. It produced cheap publishing works
of Russian and foreign classics ("Illustrated Library"), educational, children's, popular science literature. A.S. Panafidina
published one-volume collected works of A.S. Pushkin, N.V. Gogol, V.A. Zhukovsky, I.S. Nikitina, M. Yu. Lermontov,
as well as a series of literary-critical books about works N.G. Chernyshevsky, A.N. Ostrovsky, A.K. Tolstoy and others.
As contemporaries recall, she owned "the largest wholesale warehouse at 11 Lyalin Pereulok and a store in Petersburg".
Since 1913, Panafidina began to publish" Newspaper for Children and Youth ", where she published articles about the latest
achievements of science, about the world around.
