They are not made in France- french clip refers to the mechanism that closes the barrette. They are made from a silver tone color metal and I have added sparking clear color AAA rated Rhinestone Crystals in Silver plated metal settings. They are made by me. They measures  1 1/2  inches long  by  3/8 of an inch wide.   The barrette is self adjusting. The crystals are 5 mm in diameter and fit the width of the barrette for maximum bling. The barrettes are light weight but hold firm and are meant to be worn as accent barrettes. They are not meant to hold a ton of hair back- they are simply too small- again, accent barrettes. Absolutely stunning and perfect for an anniversary party, Mother of the Groom, Mother of the Bride, pageant, prom or any special occasion! Great as doll barrettes even dog barrettes.
