With the soft cover catalogue, we have a traditional black portfolio with ties, 18" x 14.5", containing a table of contents and nine signed 12" X 15" prints of the "Artist's Folio Pages." Artists featured are Vernon Fisher, Maxine Henryson and Hunter Reynolds, Komar and Melamid, Charles Bon, Annabel Livermore, Theresa Pendlebury, Brian Tucker, Jan Tumlir and Kevin Sullivan, Millie Wilson. This portfolio was limited to only 90 copies.
"Altered Egos" was a group exhibition of artists who produce art under assumed names and multiple authorship, or those who choose to explore hidden identities. Rather than simply employing a pseudonym, these artists consciously construct an alter ego or appropriate the life and art of another to create a new body (or bodies) of work that is distinct from their other artistic production. While their reasons for assuming alter egos and their respective modus operandi differ, an important aspect of Altered Egos is how the artists reject the notion of single authorship and signature style, as they redefine, represent, and reconstruct themselves."- institute of contemporary art.
About the condition: Both catalogue and prints are excellent or "near fine". The catalogue appears to be complete, clean and securely bound. Some of the prints have been handled and may have light wrinkles. As I am not an expert on art or rare books, please view my photographs for more description.
My friend who collects everything is parting with some of his treasures.
I will be happy to answer any questions and, of course, combine your shipping.
