How To Install:

How long does tinsel stay in your hair?
Properly installed, Hair Tinsel can last 4-8 weeks or longer. Everyone normally sheds approximately 100 hair per day, so the Hair Tinsel will fall out as your hair naturally sheds.
  • For a subtle look:  Less is more.  Vary the distances between the reflective hair highlight strands for a more natural look.  Use about 5- 10 strands total per head
  • For a more daring, bold look: More is more!  Use at least 10-15 strands or more per head.  Let your client decide how much shine they really want. (Take a look at Beyonce’s Look with many tinsel strands.) 

 

  • Placement:  Remember to place on top of the hair for a dramatic look or the hair tinsel underneath a couple of strands of hair so that it peeks out.  The hair tinsels will show when you move.  This will also hide the knot and give you a subtle look.
  • Best results come with WET hair.  Most stylist have found that working with wet hair makes the hair easier to work with and for the knot to stay in longer.  Installing in dry or wet hair is up to the individual stylist.  If you don’t want to install in wet hair, you can always keep a small spray bottle of water to spray and dampen the hair where you are applying the tinsel.  It helps smooth our your work and keeps the fly-always from tangling into your knot.  Do what works best for you
  • Trouble with the tinsels? : If you tie the hair tinsel and it slides off the hair strands easily, you did not keep the slip knot secure and tight before you tied the second knot.  To correct:  When the slip is at the base of the hair, put your fingers very close to the knot, take the ends of the hair tinsels and pull in opposite directions so that the slip knot is SNUG and tight around the hair shaft.  It should lock on the hair strands.  Do not pull too tight and stretch the strand out, you will get the feel for it with practice.

How To Remove:
Hold the knot between fingernails, hold the hair it is tied to securely, and pull gently along the strands of hair until it comes out. The root of the hair may come out as well depending on how tight your knot is and how hard you pull on it.

If you want to wear a few strands for ONE NIGHT ONLY , for a party, or special occasion : We recommend tying the first knot only. Do not double - knot the strand in. If you tie the first knot only, you can remove them by holding the knot between your fingernails and sliding them off the hair it is tied to. If you double - knot the strands they will stay in your hair until your hair naturally falls out on its own.
