These are two softcover books, originally written in the 1970s, that I purchased in the 1980s. The first book is "Diet for a Small Planet" by Frances Moore Lappe. It was published in 1987 by Ballantine Books (but originally written in 1971). It is indicated to be the "10th Anniversary Edition," and "Completely Updated & Revised." The second book is "Recipes For a Small Planet," by Ellen Buchman Ewald. It was published in 1984 by Ballantine Books (but originally written in 1973). The Introduction was written by Frances Moore Lappe. These books helped to popularize vegetarian diets and, in the 1970s and 1980s, diets that followed the practice of "protein complementarity."
