Excellent condition 1960’s vintage pre-owned Oriental Decor Wooden Jewelry Box. This was my mother’s and was not allowed to touch it growing up. Sat on the book shelf all these years. The wood is stained to a dark wood and sits on little wooden pad feet. I have no knowledge to what kind of wood was used (can see unstained wood in picture.) Made in Hong Kong. Excellent condition. The brass handle on top lifts and lays flat to carry the heavy box. On the drawers (see picture) the brass tabs swings out to one side to hold and pull the drawer out. Each drawer is padded in beautiful red silk like material. Could be silk, do not know. The bottom drawer has a secret compartment with special multi color design that lifts up and out for your precious safe keeps. On front and sides has carved bone or resin (do not know) flat thin white decor adding beauty. The white stands out with dark wood. The brass decor of swirls and etched leaves and designs are nailed in with tiny brass nails. Just beautiful. A great holiday gift for your loved one, or even for yourself. From a nonsmoking home.
