Vintage Italian Decoupage Gilt Ladt Portrait Plaques-2

Offered here is a pair of vintage portrait plaques consisting of prints of victorian era ladies which have been shellacked onto plaster panels for a decoupage effect. Lovely antique prints depict a colorful portrait. Thick gilded border in relief accents panels.
Marked with a “World Art” sticker on backside. Most likely Italian in origin, as decoupage prints onto plaster panels was a common motif during the 1950s. Deep boule red underpainting indicates fine quality gilding, uncommon to less attractive modern gilding processes.

Measures approximately 4“ in diameter and 5/8" thick. View measures 2.5“ in diameter.

Good condition with overall yellowing to prints and wear to frames. Both frames have a chip on underside, which is not seen when viewed from front.
