On the obverse it says “Founder of the New World” with a Viking Longship and “United States of America” at the bottom with “E Pluribus Unum” on on side and “one dollar” the opposite side of the back.


1 Icelandic .999 Silver Coin for the same voyage with his Norse name Leifur Eiriksson. It shows Leif Erikson with a Viking Longsword and Axe with with 1000 on top of 2000 showing the thousand years that passed since his journey. Next to his name in Icelandic it says “Sonur Ísland” or Son of Iceland and underneath Leif Eiriksson in Icelandic it states “Fundur Nordur-Ameríku” or “Founder of the North America” with the obverse you see the four traditional protector spirits ("Landvættir") of Iceland.
