The master adopted for SACD is an emergency safety analog master tape excavated from the tape storage by Universal Music. Currently, Decca's home country is mastering the "Der Ring des Nibelungen", commonly known as "James Rock Remaster", a digital master (PCM) that has been noise-cut and equalized by engineer James Rock. .. Digital discs and digital files officially released after 1997 are all without one exception, as the original analog master tapes are not ready for use due to their damage (it is said).・ It is based on Rock Remaster. Therefore, this work will be the world's first and only SACD that has been digitized based on the precious master sound source before this remastering process is applied.
■ DSD by flat transfer
It was the mastering studio in Nippon Columbia that did the digitization work for SACD. The audio of the analog master tape played by the A820 deck of the Studer carefully adjusted by Mr. Shigeru Takezawa, a master of Japan, was converted to a 2.8MHz DSD signal (SACD digital standard) by flat transfer. The equipment used for DSD is the Pyramix system of Marging Technologies. Strict clock management using Esoteric's master clock generator G01X, tuning of the entire system including digital / analog cables, AC cords, etc., to faithfully convert the audio of the analog master tape to DSD.
