Limited Edition Wings Over Houston #2 47010 P-51 “Madam X” 111th Tactical Recon. Squadron “Snoopers” (also “Ace In The Hole”) Battle of the Bulge, France, piloted by Maj. John B. Lutz. 

This aircraft has been hand signed by squadron nose artist, Elmer Zarny,  squadron pilots Capt. Wilbur Tapscott, Lt. Charles Hartl and Lt. Colonel Luther W. Randerson, Commanding Officer.

Major Lutz named his aircraft "Madam X" after a 1937 movie character played by Gladys George. On April 26, 1945 “Snoopers” pilot Capt. Wilbur Tapscott of the 111th shot down an ME 262 flown by Adolf Galland who was "caught napping" after attacking B-26s. Galland crash landed at his base and recorded the incident in his book, The First and the Last

On Febuary 23, 1945 Major Luther W. Randerson, commanding officer of the 111th, shot down three ME 109s in a single engagement. During the 23rd and 24th the 111th pilots shot down 14 German a/c with no losses earning them the Distinguished Unit Citation.

 
The Snoopers flew 7,284 combat sorties and shot down 43 enemy aircraft.

A/c and box are in excellent condition, only out of box for pilots to sign. Part of large collection being liquidated.
