This is an antique fireplace trivet made from a brass top with an iron base and legs.
The iron piece can slide to make the trivet longer.
It has a turned wooden handle which unfortunately has got too close to the fire and has been burnt.
No maker's marks etc.

In collectable condition with normal signs of age and use wear.
The back leg is wobbly but it still stands up ok.
Please see pictures provided for more details and visual confirmation of condition.

It measures approx. 13 inches long when closed and approx. 16 inches long when extended fully. It measures approx. 5 and 1/4 inches tall x 5 and 1/4 inches wide.
