Fritz KREISLER
"The Kreisler Collection - The Complete Acoustic HMV Recordings"
- - - -
A 2 Discs edition of one of the foremost and most important violin players of the 20th Century. Contains works from Mozart, Bruch and small violin or piano works from Beethoven, Wagner, Kreisler himself, Pergolese, Schumann, Wilhelm Jeral, Rubinstein, Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Salomon Sulzer, Drigo, and Kreisler's brother: Hugo Kreisler. Many of these pieces (mainly the transcriptions) are the least-known recordings of Fritz Kreisler, as he is playing the piano alongside his cellist brother.
These recordings date from the early 20th Century, mainly (1904, 1911, 1921, 1923, 1924, 1925), and have been transferred to tape by none other but American audio transfer engineer and producer, known for the conservation and reissue of historical recordings, Ward Marston.
Notable artists participate in these recordings from the early century, such as well-known English conductor Eugene Aynsley Goossens and English conductor, composer, pianist Sir Landon Ronald.
Charlton Keith and Haddon Squire are other pianists of no notable prestige that accompanied Kreisler in these early recordings.
Piano: Charlton KEITH; Haddon SQUIRE.
Cello: Hugo Kreisler.
Conduction: Eugene Aynsley GOOSENS (Bruch); Sir Landon RONALD (Mozart).
