This 2 CDs edition includes recordings of one of the foremost violin virtuosos of the 20th Century, the hungarian scholar and child prodigy Joseph Szigeti. He enjoyed an extensive and successful international concert career, additionally recording extensively. This edition includes recordings of violin works from Corelli, Schubert, Debussy, Charles Ives, Ernst Bloch, Bartók, and from several other composers. The most notable aspect are that these recordings date from the early years of the 40s and include fellow Hungarians, composer Bela Bartók and Andor Földes in some of them, and American Benny Goodman as well.
