On offer here is a fantastic and ORIGINAL DRAWING OF THE SCREEN ICON MARILYN MONROE DRAWN IN 1977. We are unsure of the name of the artist, except for the fact their name begins with a 'V'. The seller of this work attempted to convice us the artist was none other than the great Alberto Vargas, but Vargas exemplars we were familiar with didn't match with this example. We will continue to research the signature, but suffice it to say we acquired this work based on the remarkable strength of the execution of whoever the artist is. 

This is quite simply THE LARGEST AND MOST ACCURATELY RENDERED DRAWING OF MARILYN MONROE WE HAVE EVER SEEN. Monroe is the target of seemingly every artist attempting to capture her likeness, and essence. Some come close; others........not so much (of which some can be found here on Ebay). However, this is a fantastic example of the beloved and troubled actress who left us far too soon. 

The drawing measures 30 inches x 38.5 inches in a wooden frame measuring 37.25 in x 47.5 in. The work is somewhat crudely matted and the artist board has what looks like a mfg defect upon close inspection near Marilyns hair. We also endeavored to show angles and closeups for those skeptical of this actually being a pencil / charcoal original work. We have a great deal of experience and expertise with works on paper and can assure buyers this is indeed an original work. 

All in all an amazing and very desirable original work of art.
