Antique Hero Glass Works Mason's Maltese Cross 1858 Jar Chicken Waterer &Tray

This is a great antique Hero Glass Works Mason's Maltese cross jar chicken waterer. While researching this item found the Mason's jar but not many with screw on tray for chicken waterer. Did find the following info. "Some Mason's Patent Nov 30th 1858 type jars are marked with a "Maltese Cross" symbol which indicates the Hero Glass Works/ Hero Fruit Jar Company of PA.  There are faint letters "H, F, J & Co. that can be seen in each "arm" of the cross."

Complete in tray it measures approximately 9 1/2 inches height & diameter of bottom tray is 6 1/2 inches.

This chicken waterer/poultry fountain & tray is in excellent antique condition for its age. Mason's jar has expected light wear to bottom base, slight clouding to inside of glass, top outer edge near glass threads has two small edge chips & upper top edge roughness. The Zinc coated metal tray has light surface rust on threads.
