Asia Hina Doll seated is a Shicho or Servant of the Imperial Palace with Legs.

This particular hina doll was usually made by artisans in cottage industry during the late Meiji period around 1900, give or take 10 years.  Made of gofun on head and hands over wood.  These Japanese dolls were made for the Girl's Day Festival and often placed around a wood enameled palace with furnishings.

Japanese Hina Doll Antique Asian or Japanese Shicho is from the late Meiji Period or earlier. This is a Servant of the Imperial Family. This Hina has a fan something along that type of accessory. Appears to have inset enamel eyes, silk hair, elongated throat dowel connecting the head to the body and allows the head movement and to be removed.  His gofun is flesh colored, blue-grey where head is shaved. Typical black possibly silk hair, unarticulated body with wooden arms, attached silk costumes. Painted features on gofun over wood on head, hands. Wearing a cream jacket over a green, gold and orange robe with detailing. If this doll has any flaws, they would be listed in the condition report below.

Height is 4.35 inches (10.8 cm), due to having legs, approximately in height feet to top of hair.

Condition: Small crack with slight lifting.  Some soil on bridge of nose and cheeks mixed with 5 o'clock shadow. Please look at pictures to make this determination.  Spots of soil on bottom of extended foot.  Other areas may have light soil which is very common but difficult for me to determine since they have intentional detailed coloring to be very realistic.  Rust spot on bottom of seat.  Drip of gofun on right foot and small dots on underside of left foot.  Please look at photographs carefully and ask questions about condition if necessary.    If you need another picture then ask and receive before bidding.
