Item Description: The Children's Quillet is a six-volume encyclopedia, conceived, directed and written by Beatriz Ferro, for the Arístides Quillet publishing house. This edition, the first, printed in 1970, contained a very varied set of materials and miscellanies that covered different types of knowledge: legends, curiosities, games, historical stories, popular science, exposed in a playful and fun way. This totally national enterprise, in a certain way, recovered the model of some children's publications of the 19th century that combined entertainment purposes and dissemination of advances in science and technology. It was an encyclopedia that responded to children's curiosity about the "real" world, not forgetting childhood fantasy.

This encyclopedia featured illustrations by Oski, Enrique Breccia and Ajax Barnes, among other prominent cartoonists; and once again with the invaluable contribution in the graphic design of Oscar Díaz. The Children's Quillet can be considered as an antecedent of the Veo Veo Encyclopedia.
