This is one of a number of certificates and awards that I am listing relating to a Mr Joseph Thomas Baldwin, a farrier from Tadcaster, Yorkshire. These are all dated between 1930-1939 from various competitions and events throughout the county of Yorkshire.


This is 2 large card certificates from the Yorkshire Farriers' Education and Demonstration Association. Both have been awarded to J.T. Baldwin. 
One is a 2nd Prize in the Light Horse Shoe Making Competition held in Bradford on 16th Sept. 1933.

The other is a 1st Prize in the Horse Shoe Making Competition held in Leeds on 2nd July 1938.

Normal signs of age and use wear, mostly on the edges and corners.
The 1938 certificate has some tears including quite a long rip from the bottom edge.

The certificates both measure approx. 12 and 1/4 inches x 10 inches.

Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm in diameter which is just short of 7/8ths of an inch in diameter, or a universal Coke can, and we all know how big those are.
