Antique FRATERNAL SWORD POMMEL Steel Stamping Die * King Bros 1867-1903 MC1499

From the archives of MC Lilley, this listing is for a very early steel stamping die that was used to make a sword pommel for a fraternal sword.  The engraving looks much like  an inverted street lamp with fancy engraved designs.  The steel die is signed by the forger KING & BROS who were working in North Attleboro MA between 1867-1903.  The die is an early style with a hardened steel upper layer and a softer (less expensive at the time) lower section.  The base dimensions are approximately 3 ¾” x 4 ⅝”, the top dimensions are 3” x 3 ⅝”, and it stands 3” high.  The die weighs 11 lb 8 oz and the condition is Excellent.  Please look at all the photos and ask any questions.  See my other listings.  Free shipping is included for USA buyers.
