This is a vintage antique sample of barbed wire fencing.   This sample features an Andrew M. and Bendix Munson patent dated May 16, 1882.   This wire is called "Munson's Four Point Skeleton Barb on Single Round Line" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 159-B).  This wire features a single heavy gauge round line wire.  Barbs are four pointed made from two round barbing wires.  Barbs are wrapped together around the line wire, and are wrapped in an open spiral.  Wire sample shows light pitting.  There are three barbs.  Barbs are well spaced, and cut is well centered.   There is some light bending of barbing points.  There are no broken, or missing barbing points.
