This is a vintage antique sample of barbed wire fencing.   This sample features a Joseph F. Glidden patent, dated November 24, 1874.  This wire is called "Glidden's Two Point Barb Wrapped Around Two Triangular Lines" by collectors. (ref Hagemeier 325-B).  This wire features two twisted together triangular line wires.  Lines are twisted generally with flat sides together making a diamond shape in cross-section.  Barbs are two pointed made by wrapping a round barbing wire twice around the two line wires.  Sample shows light pitting.  There are two barbs.  Barbs are well spaced, and cut is well centered.   There is some bending of barbing points.  There are no broken, or missing barbing points.
