Golden Pearls™softener Resin is a high purity, premium grade, pretreated, strongly acidic gel-type cation exchange resin specially designed for water treatment.
Legend Golden Pearls™ Ion Exchange Resin is a high purity, premium grade, pretreated, controlled hard water minerals from your water.
Legend Golden Pearls™ ion-exchange resins are used to replace the magnesium and calcium ions found in hard water with sodium ions. When the resin is fresh, it contains sodium ions at its active sites. When in contact with a solution containing magnesium and calcium ions (but a low concentration of sodium ions), the magnesium and calcium ions preferentially migrate out of the solution to the active sites on the resin, being replaced in solution by sodium ions. This process reaches equilibrium with a much lower concentration of magnesium and calcium ions in the solution than was started with.
The exchange resin is often reusable and can be regenerated several times. However, if the surface of the resin granules is visibly damaged and has dried, it must be replaced.
40 ml of resin reduces the water hardness of 100 liters of water by approximately 1-degree dH. The effect of the Legend Golden Perals™ Ion Exchange Resin in the aquarium water should be checked from time to time with the Pack Checker TH – if the resin no longer softens the water sufficiently, it must be regenerated.
The Legend Golden Pearls™ Ion Exchange Resin is very easy to regenerate: Prepare a saturated salt solution with sodium chloride (NaCl): Table salt without any other additives such as iodine or fluorine is added to a little water until no more salt dissolves. Then the resin to be regenerated is added to the salt solution. The exchange resin is left to stand like this for about an hour, stirring it from time to time. Then the salty water is poured off and the resin is briefly rinsed several times with clean water.
For best results, Legend Golden Pearl™ should be placed so as to maximize the flow of water through it. It may be used in a canister filter, media chamber, box filter, or any high-flow area of a trickle filter. Use in a fine mesh (180 microns or less) filter bag such as Legends Golden Pearls Bag™.
Reusable refill of Ion-exchange resin for softener. You can use it repeatedly for a long period of time: for recovery, soak it in salt water. Please replace the resin once its surface becomes worn out and dried.

Approximately 40g of Resin is necessary to lower the hardness level by 1°dH of every 100L of water.
For recovering a 100ml of resin, mix in the water with 20g of salt, and leave it for about an hour. Then replace the water and remove the salt.
