Coin Bank Book Shaped Red with Key

The Zell Company made banks for several companies in the shape of little leather and brass library books as savings incentives. With a slot in the top and a locking base on the bottom.This bank was made for Mutual Life of Canada.  Approximately 4-1/2" tall by 3" across by 1" wide and marked "Zell Prods. Corp. N.Y." and "A Dime A Day Keeps Up To Date" on the top, with the key hole in the bottom end labelled with an arrow and the words "to open" pointing clockwise. Side reads "For Various Coins, Paper Money".

The original key and lock mechanism are missing. Circa 1940s bank is in very good original vintage condition. The brass has not been polished. The red leather has some marks and wear.
