Coin Bank Book Shaped Blue No Key or Lock
The Zell Company made banks for several
companies in the shape of little leather and brass library books as
savings incentives. With a slot in the top and a locking base on the
bottom.This bank was made for Investors Syndicate of Canada. Approximately 4-1/2" tall by 3" across by
1" wide and marked "Zell Prods. Co. N.Y." and "For Coin and Bills" on
the top, with the key hole in the bottom end labelled with an arrow and
the words "to open" pointing clockwise.
The original key and lock mechanism are missing. Circa 1940s bank is in very good original vintage
condition. The brass has not been polished.
The blue leather has some marks and wear.
