Augusta - 2013 US Masters Highlights (DVD, 2013).

In 2013, after coming agonisingly close on numerous occasions, Australia was finally able to secure the famous

Green Jacket and bring the curtain down on one of the most dramatic Tournaments in memory, When Adam Scott

birdied the second playoff hole to defeat Angel Cabrera - scene of Bubba Watson's incredible iron shot to clinch

victory 12 months before - he ended his personal wait for a major championship and cemented his place in

history as the first Australian to win the Masters.

One of those to make it to the weekend was the sensational 14-year-old Guan Tianlang of China. Incredibly, Guan did not three-putt

any of Augusta National's challenging greens and cruised to Low Amateur honours. Tiger Woods, in position on the weekend,

could not overcome the strong charge of surrounding competitors, made more difficult by a two-stroke penalty resulting from an

improper drop during the second round.

Instead, the fourth round was all about the surge of the Australians as Scott, Marc Leishman and Jason Day all chased an historic

victory, pursued by 43-year-old Argentine Angel Cabrera, already the owner of one Green Jacket after success in 2009. When the

32-vear-old Scott sensationally birdied the par-4 18th, victory looked assured, but Cabrera responded with a stunning iron shot to

within three feet of the hole to make birdie and force a sudden-death playoff for the second consecutive vear.

Scott needed a further two holes to end Australia's long wait; and after Cabrera missed his birdie chance by the narrow est of

margins at the par-4 10th, Scott secured the 77th Masters thanks to a birdie from 10-feet.

Said Scott: "It's amazing that it was my destiny to be the first Australian to win."
