This is a very supple hat with a wide grosgrain ribbon.
Morreton closed in 1976 so these hats are becoming increasingly rare to find.
This one dates to 1960s.
It comes with an original advertisement for Morreton fedoras from a French glossy magazine dated 1942.
Mid brown thick quality 1 3/8" leather sweatband, but easily turned. Embossed onto the sweatband are 'softline', 'impermeable' (waterproof), and the 100 years of Morreton '1863-1963'
Unlined and there is no crown patch.
The shop stamp on the sweatband is Jockey Club, 64 rue Jeanne D'Arc, Rouen
The labels under the sweatband have the colour 'chataigne' (chestnut), Reorder stock number b4/0116/1
