Mountain Bike Upgrade Service.  Please note: This fee DOES NOT include the cost of the motor and battery (or delivery) - just the fitting.

The £90 fee also does not include supply of a bike.

Based on the examples shown in the listing the motor cost is from £470 and the battery starts at £200.

Our Service

We will upgrade your hard-tail bike with a Bafang Electric "Mid-Drive" motor and downtube battery with throttle and display (kit to be purchased by the buyer - but we will provide assistance with selecting the suitable kit - please provide us with photos of your existing bike). 

If you provide and deliver your bike to us (based in the Wirral area) along with the Bafang kit, then we can upgrade this to an e-bike.  Drop Off and Collection Only (or buyer arranges delivery)

We have provided this service for numerous other customers and have included some example photos to this listing. 

For the bike to be compatible it just needs a standard size frame (see example images) and a bottom bracket between 68-73mm or 100mm(Fat). Please see example images on this listing.

The battery range you select depends on your own requirements, but by way of example, we have been able to clock up to 50 miles from a single charge using a 13Ah Hailong downtube with a 750W motor. Note: this was on a reasonably flat surface and without over use of the throttle.

Using the Bafang mid drive motor and battery (purchased by the buyer) fitting will also include the following:

• Display controller (option as selected by the buyer)
• Pedal assist controller
• Throttle (no need for pedalling at all in this mode).
• Speed sensor
• iPhone holder or frame bag (used to hide e-bike cabling and provided as part of the fitting price)
• Hydraulic brake sensors which kill the motor when v-brakes are operated
• Battery, locking key and charger
• Warranty cards for battery and motor

• The display speed limited up to 45km/h. We recommend keeping it limited to the UK regulation of 25 km/h.
• Any faults with the motor or battery can be dealt with by the buyer under the 12 month warranty.
• The other parts (brake sensors, speed sensor, etc) are all readily available to buy on eBay individually if any become damaged.
• This bike is delivery & collection only from the Wirral area.  Any future costs for returns/deliveries/collections must be paid by the buyer.
