Description:

A cylindrical screw top glass dressing table pot with a silver lid made by Adolph Frankau & Co Ltd of Queen Victoria Street, London. The lid has intricate decoration on the lid with a vacant cartouche in the centre which could be engraved with initials if desired. The pressed glass base is facetted.

Silver lid weighs 1.8 grams.


Identifying Marks / Makers Marks: Hallmarked on the top of the lid with "AF" (maker Adolph Frankau & Co Ltd ), the top of an "O" for 1909 (only the top of the letter has come out in the stamp), the lion passant for silver and a leopard (London).

Age / date of manufacture:

1909.

Size: Measures 3 1/4" (8.25 cm) tall and is 1 3/8" (3.5 cm) in diameter. 
Condition: Silver lid is in good condition with no holes or splits, has some small dents on the blank cartouche in the centre. Pressed glass base is in good condition with no chips or cloudiness, the inside edge of the rim is slightly rough.
