Even though screws, nuts and bolts are found in many antique trunks that have been repaired or restored and in modern trunks, trunk nails and tacks are the way in which they were originally constructed. If you have an old un-restored trunk then you probably a lot of trunk nails or tacks. Trunk nails are more unique because they get bent or curled over on the inside of the trunk making a sturdier piece.
