This is an original March, 1948 calendar page advertising Thompson Products with beautiful graphics by Charles H. Hubbell, depicting a plane piloted by German Oswald Boelcke who was testing the first synchronized machine gun and propeller invented by Tony Fokker during WWI.  Before that time, pilots would often shoot down their own planes by shooting through their propeller.  Fokker had refused to fly in actual combat but Boelcke shot down a French Voisin plane with the new invention.

The calendar page measures 25" X 16 1/2". There is additional information on the calendar page and on a card clipped from the back of the calendar.
