LOT of 2 Vintage French Linen Nightdresses White  XL

These are both linen and simple A Line style.

Both are typical of the period with 3/4 sleeves and an open neck, one being edged with ric rac.

Both have a monogram in red cross stitch. One is RM and the other MF (Renee Marie and Marie Francoise perhaps?)

Both are textured, rustic, homespun linen, which have softened on texture through use.

One has some repairs on it, but I feel both have had panels expertly replaced, as one has a seam just under the bust, where I think the lower panel has been replaced. The second one is made from a straight piece of linen, with full length fabric pieces on each side for ease of movement. I think these side panels have been replaced, though the fabric is a good match. They have been looked after as one, possibly 2 nightdresses that the women would have had.
