Released in 1955, Julie Is Her Name was produced by Pianist Bobby Troup and features Barney Kessel on Guitar with Ray Leatherwood on Bass. Her debut album was an immediate hit reaching number. 2 in the US Charts and featured what would become London's best-known song Cry Me A River, a classic 'torch' song which became a global top ten hit. She even performed it in the 1956 Rock'n'Roll movie The Girl Can't Help It. And voted by Billboard as the most popular female vocalist for 1955, 1956 and 1957! Julie went on to enjoy a successful recording career for over a decade with her last album released in 1969. During this time she racked up 32 albums, scoring several top twenty hits en route.
