The Carnelian Cube Science Fiction Paperback Book by L. Sprague de Camp 1967
The carnelian cube of the title is a small red "dream stone" confiscated by archaeologist Arthur Cleveland Finch from one of the workers on the dig he is supervising.
Sleeping with it beneath his pillow he finds himself cast into a parallel world as "Finch Arthur Poet" --
who is, indeed, a poet.
Finding his life endangered, he discovers he can use the stone to escape into yet another parallel world, and the novel follows his adventures through a succession of such worlds.
Book is in acceptable condition. General shelf and corner wear. Cover fraying along the edges. Some white marks on front and back cover. Light staining on the interior and exterior. The spine has some issues including (See photo #3). Staining on front and back cover. Scraping from a sticker removal in the top right corner of the front cover, and ropt right corner of the back cover.
