1950s REALIST VIEWMAILER.
This is a unique COLLAPSIBLE STEREO VIEWER Patented in the mid-1950s and distributed by Realist, Inc. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, this is a rare collapsible stereoscopic viewer, which was a product of the Halladay Company.
It is a clever design, that allowes you to insert your favorite stereo slide into the package, fold a flap around your slide, seal the flap, address the package, and mail it to anyone you desired — all without having to open up the Viewmailer itself. When the recipient opened up the package, all he had to do was pull out the two side flaps of the viewer and he had an instant stereo viewer with the slide you sent him already inserted into the viewer. The viewer was even focusable by squeezing it with your thumbs and fingers (see photo of instructions).
This listing is for a single Viemailer as seen in my photos. The viewer is sealed but I also have an opened one and I included some pictures of it.
