This is a Cabinet Card, which was a popular photo format in the 1880s. They were first used in the 1860s for landscape views, eventually adapted to portraits, and had greatly declined by the 1890s.


From a family collection. I'm unsure of the previous owner, but their relatives included Phil Chase, Everett Shearer, Fred Shearer, Bruce Elrod, Lillie Hollingbaugh, Fred Hollingbaugh, Margaret Sharp, J. E. Hollingbaugh, Bessie Hollingbaugh, Cliff Hollingbaugh, Nellie Hollingbaugh, Ferd Protzman, Eva (Hollingbaugh) Shearer, and Nill McCort.
