Description

These wonderful strap hinges were salvaged from a Philadelphia Victorian.

They were originally part of a dutch door.

They are made of cast iron and have black paint with surface rust overall.

These are true strap hinges with the hinge at one end though one is bent.

The centers have a shield and ribbon design with cast flowers to either side, i see no breaks or loss.

Each is 45.75 inches wide and the hinges are 4 3/8 by 4 3/8.

Your bid buys all 4.

Overall they are in good condition for their age. They will need to be cleaned up. 3 of the 4 ball finials are missing. Please look at the pictures carefully.

Terms of Sale

I accept returns only if my description is inaccurate. For example, if I pull an item from a building that I believe to be original to the house and it is later discovered to be a reproduction, or if I enter an incorrect measurement, I will allow the buyer to return the item. I describe all my items as accurately as possible with descriptions and often pictures of any damage. I try to measure within 1/8 of an inch.

About Us

My salvage business was born of necessity in 1993 when I started restoring an old Victorian home that had seen better days. I needed doors, staircase parts, fireplace mantles and more, so I contacted the owners of a few local buildings that were scheduled for demolition. I found and purchased all of the things that I needed for my project and lots of extra treasures which I eventually resold. 17 years later this is still my full time job! I salvage whatever I can think can be reused as long as there is room in my warehouse. The warehouse is open for treasure hunting anytime by appointment. Just contact me to schedule a day and time! Thanks for visiting.  Steve and Michelle
