This is an original vintage or antique lineman's tool.  This is a wire or cable grip, and was made by Western Electric as a #1 Buffalo Grip.   It measures 9" fully extended.  It is also marked NT Co. on one side.  Wire Spring is broken.     Tool needs cleaning but is otherwise in good used condition. There are no off odors.
