This is a scarce and sought after BIBA newspaper, dating back to when the boutique first opened in London.

Exceptionally rare; only a few were handed out at the opening of the new big Biba store  opened in Kensington in September 1973.

This magazine was printed 45 years ago, and came folded.

Fantastic photography capturing the BIBA atmosphere as a store and fashion label throughout, beautifully designed.

Features:

Photography by Sarah Moon.
Iconic Biba logo and pin-up drawings by Kasia Charko.
Photos of Twiggy
A guide to the new store and departments
Make-up tips
New clothes and homeware designs
Colours of the season
Adverts for Biba products; these seem to be unique to this publication, have not seen these elsewhere

On the cover is a photo of Biba staff members, plus a drawing of Mary Austin, who worked on the information booth at Biba.  Mary was the girlfriend of Freddy Mercury who was just starting out with his band Queen.

The back cover is all about the Food Hall in the basement which offered fresh produce from the London markets (Billingsgate, Smithfield and Covent Garden) along with French cheeses, health food products, pasta and breads, a wine cellar and also takeaway food!

Includes an ingenious 'Lifts and Staircases' game, based on the Snakes & Ladders game format, to encourage customers to use the stairs and explore.

Designed by art director Steve Thomas in 1973.
