Born in Russia, raised in London and socialized with hip hop since the 80s, DJ Vadim (aka. Daddy Vad / Andre Gurov) meanwhile the status of a true insider legend with countless releases on top labels like Ninja Tune, BBE or P-Vine. The DJ and producer, who has well over 100 international appearances every year, is constantly refining his style between the poles of hip hop, electronica, reggae and soul. Cooperations and joint appearances with world stars such as Stevie Wonder, Paul Weller , Kraftwerk, DJ Krush, Prince or Public Enemy adorn his biography.

After his »Dubcatcher« trilogy, the busy touring artist was of course severely slowed down by the Covid pandemic. In lockdown he developed the vision of new music: the Caribbean spirit of Nassau and the Bahamas and Chris Blackwell (producer and founder of Island Records) and his studios based there COMPASS POINT were the blueprint for the "Feel Up" sound, a perfect blend of beats, dancehall, afrotropical and hip hop. With guest appearances from Skarra Mucci, Jahdan Blakkamore, KillaP, Lasai, Jon Payne and more, Vadim surprises on ten new tracks that are diverse, global and modern like never before.
