The compilation Fifteen + 1 celebrates 16 years of Ostgut Ton and the light at the end of a long, dark tunnel for its Berghain parent company.

Originally slated for a 2020 release, the music at hand reflects the intertwining of in-house label and club/club. its different musical facets. Ostgut Ton artists and friends worked together on pieces dedicated to five floors - and assigned five 12"es in the vinyl box set. The 20 pieces are musical homages to spaces that both influenced and were influenced by the people involved. The result is sometimes functional, sometimes more abstract tonal approximations.

After the pandemic temporarily forced the club to close, the collaborative nature of this compilation represents an attempt to overcome varying degrees of isolation and grapple with memories of music and spaces that have long been inaccessible. But certainly not forgotten.
