Scientific tests of 700 olive oil samples from 30 olive varieties from 12 countries were conducted at the University of Athens in 2014.
Results showed that The Governor was one of the healthiest olive oils worldwide due to its impressively high concentration of phenolic compounds (also called polyphenols) as per the official Certificate of Analysis.
For example, the level of the polyphenols oleocanthal and oleacein in The Governor EVOO was seven times higher than the average of the samples tested in 2014, and the oleocanthal level was the highest recorded from a commercially-available bottled olive oil since 2009.
