This complete quilt is made with thousands of small and delicate running kantha stitches to create a one of a kind kantha.

Kantha is the most famous handmade technique in the form of embroidery practiced by rural women.

In order to complete a kantha quilt, the artisans use saris and cloth and layer them with kantha stitch to make a light blanket, throw or bedspread.

The kantha quilt is made with just two layers of cotton which has been quilted together with running stitches known as kantha.

It is to be noted that there is no batting / stuffing in the middle which makes it lightweight.
