This is a pair of antique boot shaped things made from polished brass.

They have an unusual curved base which you do not often see. Very nice and well made with fine detail both of these. And if you look close, you will see one is a 10 eyelet boot and the other a 14 eyelet boot. With Louis Heels and stitching depicted as well.

No maker's marks etc.

Please see photographs provided for more details and visual confirmation of condition.
Normal signs of age and use wear including some light surface scuffs and minor impact marks.

They both measures approx. 4 and 3/4 inches tall x 4 inches x 1 inch on the base.

These BOOT shaped brass ornaments are typical of the Victorian and early Edwardian period where they were made in the schools and sheds simply as ornaments for the fireplace and mantel pieces. They were very common once upon a time but most will have been melted down of late. This is a rather nice example and too nice to melt down.

26th January a UK buyer has just got his package I sent to him 1st Class Signed for service which I posted to him on 3rd January this year. That is ROYAL MAIL service inland which is not good enough. Shocking.
The ROYAL MAIL postal service I have been using for the past 45 years and I was always a loyal customer and I would always want to use them over anyone else have let me down seriously this year. Their service was on a downer for the last year or so but has come to head in November - December when they took strike action for many days during those months. Their service was pretty bad before this to be fair but what a SHAMBLES it is now. I have customers around the world and in the UK that have not had delivery of their packages from me, sent tracked mail. Lost or delayed in sorting depot's and customs terminals. This is such a shocking service from a company that should have been TOP of their game. I have had to resort to the ebay GLOBAL SHIPPING PROGRAM for international deliveries and to be honest I do not think I will be in any rush to go back to using RM. They have lost my business, which is a considerable amount over a year. They need to get their finger pulled out and their act together otherwise I can see them really going down the pan and being bought by a rival for a £1. All UK sellers are in the same boat and like me will be jumping ship, some jumped ship many years ago and I wish I had done. I have refunded more £££ this year than I have done at any other time and put in more claims to RM for their incompetent services.

Scale is usually an English 1 penny coin which is 20mm in diameter which is just short of 7/8ths of an inch in diameter, or a universal Coke can, and we all know how big those are.

If you see A/F = a/f in the title or description it means "as found" condition which may have scuffs, scratches and damage. In relation to all my listings it does not mean " about fine ". I have used A/F  for " as found " for 45 years.
